The situation
A care worker comes to you at the end of her shift. She says that during personal care this morning, a person using your service told her that a family member had hit them at the weekend.
The person is physically well today and has no visible injury that the carer noticed. When the carer gently asked about it, the person said they did not want any fuss and asked her not to say anything.
The family member visits regularly and is due in tomorrow afternoon.
In a real situation, if someone needs urgent medical attention or is in immediate danger, get emergency help first — 999 — and deal with the process alongside that, not instead of it.
